I offer a range of PODD workshops designed to meet families, educators, and support teams where they are—whether they’re brand new to PODD or looking to deepen their practice. These trainings are grounded in real-life application and focus on helping communication partners feel confident, capable, and connected.
Two-Day Introductory PODD Workshop
A comprehensive training for teams and individuals who are new to PODD or want to revisit the foundational principles of this robust communication system. This workshop covers key concepts, hands-on practice, and implementation strategies for supporting AAC users with complex communication needs.
One-Day PODD Overview
An abbreviated version of the two-day training that introduces the core principles of PODD and the role of communication partners. Ideal for school teams, therapists, or caregivers looking for a deeper understanding without the full two-day commitment.
Custom PODD Overview Sessions
Shorter, focused trainings tailored to the needs of families, school teams, or groups. These sessions are designed to offer flexibility in length, content, and audience, and may or may not require prior attendance at the Two-Day Introductory Workshop.
Options include:
PODD Overview (1 hour)
A quick introduction to the “why” and “how” of PODD for new team members or caregivers
Developing Your Child’s Communication Skills (2–3 hours)
For families wanting to better understand their child’s AAC journey and how PODD fits in
Using AAC at Home + PODD Practice Session (2–3 hours)
A practical session for embedding PODD into daily routines, including hands-on modeling and communication partner strategies
Communication Partner Practice Using PODD (2–3 hours)
Focused, hands-on practice for teams supporting AAC users who rely on PODD and/or partner-assisted scanning
All trainings can be customized for your group’s needs and are designed with real-world implementation in mind—because communication should work where life actually happens.
